MAJOLICA PLATE OVERLAPPING BEGONIA LEAF SMALL BLUE FLOWERS BORDER GREEN BROWN YELLOW BLUE APPROX MEASUREMENTS 6 5/8"D weight 8.4 oz This stunning Majolica plate is came from an exceptional family estate auction held outside of Ann Arbor Michigan. The glaze is absolutely fabulous. Beautifully applied. Careful and highly artistic. Pattern is superb. Detailing is crisp. Veining of the leaves is exceptionally vibrant. Lush green and yellow begonia leaf accented with browns and pinks. Begonia leaf and stem is beautifully textured and raised. Someone put a great deal of time and into this plate and it shows. The condition of the plate is excellent. Slight crazing. T are no unwarranted mark or chips that I can detect. Minty. The back of the plate is exquisitely sponged. Pale greens. Sponged glaze is uniform. Plate is nicely shaped. Just think this is a very exciting piece of Majolica. Bright and cheerful. Exceptionally well-glazed and with a wonderful leafy decoration.
