Description of item for sale: Please be sure to read the clocks terms and conditions posted below this description. This antique figural clock is from France and it dates to the late 1800’s. The bronzed spelter figure of a young artist with the title “Un Futur Artiste” is very cute! The sculpture is in excellent condition with perfect medium bronze patina and no damage-note that even the old metal ribbons holding the boy’s portfolio are original and intact. The high quality French clockworks are marked with the Japy Frères stamp and show the date 1857. The 8 day time and strike works are clean and complete and run very well. The clock chime strikes once on the half-hour and tolls the hours on a very pleasant sounding bell chime. The prretty marble base is free of chips or other damage. This clock is in very good antique condition with no damage of any significance. Dimensions: 22.5” tall, 11“ wide, 7.5“ deep.
