Small collection of antique marbles as well as the green Depression glass biscuit jar I have kept them in! Full range of marble styles and periods including - 1. one painted 7/8" chalkware (dirty but intact) 2. one German China 3/4" glazed resembling the chalkware (glaze missing where it was in kiln) and like a very small Victorian carpet ball 3. one 5/8" Oxblood and butterscotch corkscrew Akro Agate (perfect) 4. one 5/8" Akro Agate in jadeite green and Oxblood corkscrew (smallest surface chips) 5 and 6. two Peltier Peerless Patch turquoise and yellow (two sizes, 1/2" smaller is perfect, larger 5/8" has very minor surface damage) 7. an antique 3/4" German 'peppermint' marble in GORGEOUS condition - six red swirls, two cobalt (with mica) on white nearly identical to completed eBay auction #121101074542 8. a 7/8" antique German white lattice core ribbon swirl marble with cobalt blue, emerald green, peony pink - lattice runs end-to-end at core, surface wear at one end and a chip near the end at the other - gorgeous marble. 9. an antique German paneled Indian or banded Submarine 5/8" marble in black with yellow, white, red, blue and green swirls on surface, pontil ends are matte on largish chip consisting of three unique flea chips 10. an antique German double ground pontil 5/8" Onionskin marble in two shades of green, white, yellow, brick, and red 11. an antique German double ground pontil 7/8" Onionskin in ruby, cobalt and white with a tiny bit of emerald green 12. an antique German double ground pontil 7/8" caged striped (pale yellow) arranged in four clusters of three around swirl core in white with cobalt, pink and emerald, double ground pontils, needs buffing - lots of chips on one side and cloudy surface as a result of wear on the rest 13. and antique German double ground pontil 7/8" caged swirl (white) concentrically arranged around swirl core in pink, emerald and white - fantastic! near perfect condition 14. a red and white corkscrew slag Akro Agate (prefect) 5/8" 15. a green and white corkscrew slag Akro Agate (perfect) 5/8" 16. (perhaps?) a Akro Agate Cats Eye Agate - 5/8" translucent Adventurine green base with opaque lemon yellow swirl (like an onionskin) at the surface, some surface wear and small flea chip, still glossy / wet looking 17. an antique 5/8" translucent aquamarine blue swirled with opaque aqua, some surface wear but no chips - super pretty color looks like a white capped wave crashing onto itself - no pontils 18. finally, an antique German 5/8" concentric peppermint marble with two cobalt swirls and two equally spaced swirls of red on a white ground. Lots of surface damage on one section above a blue swath, other surface blemishes make the surface dull but could be a beautiful marble again with polishing. The green 'petroleum' glass Depression era biscuit jar is near perfect. Some tiny flea chips on the inside of the rim of the jar. I will stuff tissue down inside the jar to keep the marbles from rattling around in transit, then bubble wrap and securely box. As there are so many marbles I won't be able to share all individual ones with the eBay photos - sorry. But I am happy to send pictures of any if you want further details. Sold as a lot, and from my research there are some pretty expensive marbles in my collection. Sold without reserve and starting price equal to the final sale price (in May) a smaller German peppermint marble very similar in condition and color combination to mine plus the cost of the jar. Please don't ask me to separate them, and as I am culling possession to move out of the country, sorry no returns.
