It is a doll head mounted onto a wooden torso that once was a squeaker. Someone had reglued the head to the wood block and the squeaker no longer functions, it was a paper billows and it disentegrated. You can still see the paper attached to prove it once had billows. Someone also taped the two separate wood pieces under the dress slip near the neck. I read that the doll head originally moved from side to side as you wiggled the stick. The glass eyes are nearly black with many painted lashes and brown painted heavy brows. She has painted lips, nostrils and blush. It is a thick bisque, no hairlines or cracks. Her face needs a gentle cleaning. It is marked or incised W at the neck back. There is glue visible around the neck base but the lace collar covers it up. There are 2 swirls of strawberry blonde mohair on the sides of the head near the cap. There is cotton inside the silk cap and it is missing a bell on top and a pom-pom. The gown consists of pink silk with triangles trimmed in cotton braiding. There are missing pom-poms and read more
