Up for auction is this beautiful antique Mary Gregory glass vase with a silverplate holder/stand. The vase is cranberry in color and measures 6 1/8" tall, 3 3/4" across the top, and 2" across the bottom. It is smooth on the outside and ribbed on the inside. One side has the white enamel design of a young girl holding a twig and the other side has a sprig design. The vase is in good condition with no chips or cracks but does have some dull areas which I believe is some etching from being taken in and out of the holder. Also, t appears to be brown spots on the enamel design which may be loss due to being taken in and out of the holder. The footed holder or stand measures 9 1/2" tall and 8" wide from handle to handle. It features an adorable design with owls, bamboo, and flowers. T is a row of 5 owls on either side of the top ring and two owls perched on each handle. Marked on the bottom Homan Silver Plate Co., 2063 (?), Quadruple Plate. The stand is very tarnished and I am unsure if the finish could be restored, but it is beautiful and displays nicely anyway. Also, the handles have come loose from the top ring but it is still very stable (see pics). I belive this vase and holder is an original Mary Gregory antique, but I am not an expert in glass or antique silverplate. Please refer to the pictures for more detail, and if you have read more
