Antique MAUCHLINE WARE SEWING EGG GENESEE STREET LOOKING EAST FROM STATE AUBURN, N.Y. From a Connecticut Estate Auction comes this Antique MAUCHLINE WARE SEWING EGG with the image of the image of GENESEE STREET (LOOKING EAST FROM STATE) AUBURN, N.Y. This probably came with sewing implements in it as these were used as darning balls. It's in excellent used condition with some crackle in the lacquer and a few tiny blemishes in the surface. The two pieces twist apart to reveal a clean interior and are very tight fitting. I have recently purchased a large collection of interesting Mauchline Ware pieces, so please see my other listings both for more of those as well as an eclectic selection of other vintage and antique items.
