This is AN ANTIQUE MECHANICAL VALENTINE. It represents two puti in a flower-decorated early automobile. It seems to have 5 chromolithographic cutout layers which fold flat when not on display. The layers are attached to a light blue scalloped base which measures 6 1/2" x 6"; the completely opened Valentine is 5" tall. There is also a small pink bouquet of tissue flowers (on the back seat, seen on the last scan. On the bottom of the base is a hand-written note: "32" and also "1910s" probably indicating when the card was made of mailed? The putis have several creases and one of the creases is visible in front, on the puti who sits the highest. There are also three small details which are attached from the back by a piece of scotch tape attached to the automobile lights, to the steering wheel and one small branch to the very back layer.
