This is a Fabulous RARE Meerschaum 1800's hand carved pipe . This beautiful valuable masterpiece features highly detailed a Collie Sheltie running along side of a galloping stallion horse. This pipe has a nice a lovely rich amber hue with exquisite detail. This lovely highly collectible antique comes complete with original case . The mouth piece and case does have some bite wear and is loose. Pipe itself is Spectacular! Meerschaum is a German word describing a soft mineral , which literally means "sea foam". Alluding to the belief that it was the compressed whitecaps of waves, just as it is said in mythology for the goddess of beauty - Aphrodite.Meerschaum is one of the major reasons for the fame of Eskisehir.Eskisehir has the purest and whitest ,most easy to engrave Meerschaum in the world.
