MEISSEN 19th Century Figurine No Reserve Genuine antique porcelain figurine from the Meissen factory in Germany. Beautifully modelled and completely hand painted & gilded in typical Meissen quality. Fully marked to base. ************* PLEASE NOTE - EBAY CAN OCCASIONALLY "CRASH" or GO SLOW, PREVENTING LAST MINUTE BIDDING - IF YOU DON'T BID EARLY YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BID AT ALL. (This has happened to me recently - I was not amused)! So, the moral of this story is - - - "BID EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT" ************************ Condition Overall excellent condition with just one very tiny fault. He is missing what he was holding in his right hand (See picture #7). I don't know if it was another twig that he had been collecting that he was putting in his hat ... or was this an ax/hatchet that was being used to chop the wood? That is the only break that I can find. As you can see from my pics this very minor issue does not detract at all. Any light marks are due to lighting or flash. The Figure stands 7" tall and the base of the figure is 2 & 5/8" in diameter. The red mark on the bottom read "74." The insized marks read "F.69" and a smaller "127" The crossed swords are under the glaze. I have been told that in a good economy this, even with the damage this is worth $1200.00. As you know this is 1/2 of a pair ... A gardener grafting a tree. He is missing the "twig" that he was going to graft. A pair with each having more damage than this just sold for $2900.00. Modeled after the 1777 molding by Acier, this is from 1880. Please see photos for condition. Please ask questions ...
