DESCRIPTION : This antique Mettlach pottery stein is in excellent condition without damage. The stein is the 1/4 L (liter) size and measures 6 1/2" in height. This stein features a scene of a gnome (dwarf) with a crutch falling down and spilling the drink and food. The words Prost are within the scene... (maybe "darn" in English?). Also in the scene are birds and what looks like turnips. The art is signed H.S. for Heinrich Schlitt. The pewter lid has a gnome face on the lids tab handle. This vintage German stein has the impressed castle mark on the underside as well as Mettlach.
