This is an antique heavy metal (cast iron?) hanging light from the 1920-1930's era I believe. It measures 15 inches across and about 13 inches high. It holds 5 bulbs. I think the finish on it looks original. It was made by the MFP Inc. company. Somebody had attached a long electrical cord to it and draped it across the ceiling and down the wall to a regular plug in. This cord (should you even want to do it this way) needs to be replaced as there are places where they put nails through it to secure it and also has electrical tape around some spots. I did not plug this mess in to see if it works ( like my life too much). However, this would be a wonderful antique addition to a home if you wanted to wire it and hang it correctly.
