ANTIQUE MICROSCOPE AUSTRIA C. REICHERT WIEN CONTINENTAL NO RESERVE!!! This auction is for a Reichert Jug Handle Continental style microscope âe" circa 1918 according to the serial #. #46478. The instrument is typical Continental style with an added âeoejug-handleâe affixed to the rear of the stage. Coarse focus is rack and pinion, fine focus micrometer knob. The substage Abbe condenser has a variable iris diaphragm and swing out filter holder. The mirror is plano-concave with some light age clouding on both sides and some light scratches. Three original objectives include a No.3, No. 7a, and an 18a+++. All three come with original black painted cannisters. The two eyepieces are numbered as II, and IV. T is a third black eyepiece with a screw in bottom, may not fit with this piece. The finish is lacquered brass with a painted black base. The lacquer coverage is complete with minimal spotting, needs a good polish to really shine. The black coverage is fairly complete, some light scuffs and marks on the base and platform. This microscope is rather dusty and tarnished, needs a good cleaning to really shine. It is about 12" by 6" by 4". A fantastic antique microscope, perfect for display! Check out my other items !
