Rare child's stool made by Steiff, Germany, circa 1959-69. In the shape of a 5 armed starfish, it is colorful and has a great shape. It is supported underneath with a sturdy steel rod frame, which gives strength and stability, and is strong enough to support an average adult. The frame is attached to the body with heavy strings. Beautiful and elaborate airbrush design in pumpkin orange, brown, green, and cherry red. Height 35 cm; Width 55 cm; Depth 55 cm. In very good condition. I tried to show any defects in the photos. The top has some stitching that I've shown in a close-up. If you are interested, please email me and I can send lots of close-ups of feet. Unsure what Steiff named this piece, possible "Starly." Produced by Steiff from 1959-1969. This one is missing its tag and button, which was originally attached to a leg seam. Fine example of a rare Steiff product.
