Hello, I have up for auction an Antique Copy of a Milanese Shield (1500's). This copy of the shield was made in the 1800's in Germany by Schmidt and was actually reviewed by the antique road show when they were in Pittsburgh. If the shield was an actual Milanese it would be worth several hundred thousand dollars, but since it is a copy, it is worth $3-4000 to a collector. The raised soldiers on the shield are in excellent condition and you can see the actual pattern in my pictures. T is some slight surface rust on the sheild (appears to be a cast iron), but nothing you can't clean up if necessary. When this shield was made middle to late 1800's, it was to be used as a wall ornament and has a hanging plate on the back. The shield weighs a solid 18 lbs is 21.5 inches in diameter, and 5" high at the center point. Shipping is a fixed $25 in the US. Overseas bidders are welcome, but must email me for rates first. Thank you for your bids in advance and you will be pleased.
