Antique Milk Glass Wave Crest Jewelry Casket or Vanity Box This is a delightful antique Wave Crest trinket or jewelry box that dates from the 1890's. It has a hinged lid and small thumb handle for opening. The technique used on the milk glass design mold is unique in that at first glance this piece appears to be crafted of pleated or tufted fabric. A garland of dainty hand painted and beaded flowers adorn the lid. The glass is free of any chips or cracks. It could stand a "toothbrush" bath, but we will leave that to the new owner. The interior fabric liner is complete, showing some wear on the folds of the material. Overall measurements of this piece are 2¾" tall, 3¼" wide and 3¼" deep. A metal fitting measuring ¾" encircles both the top and bottom of the jar. Both the hinge on the backside and thumb closure clasp in front are in perfect working condition.
