This auction is for a very old, and well made candy making - rolling machine. Fully signed and dated, as shown in the pictures. "Thomas Mills & Bro Philadelphia, Pa. - Patent Feb. 14 1871". Comes with 2 complete sets of rollers for making a total of 4 different shape candies - small balls and fish pictured in the machine, and large balls and oblongs pictured seperatly. The most interesting, being the FISH! Rollers are made of solid brass and hand tooled! Each fish has slightly different tool marks. This is a very decorative antique that has been on display in a prominent historic home for several years, as well as being a very good quality piece of early machinery ready to work! Would probably last another 137 years! All parts on the machine are in excellent original working condition. The spare rollers have a few nicks in the brass. Green paint looks very good and all original. The cast iron base measures 12 inches long and 6 and 1/2 inches wide - it is 8 and 1/2 inches tall to the top of the bearing adjusters - the handle is 11 inches long and 6 inches wide at the wooden grip - the rollers are 3 and 5/8 inches wide and 2 inches in diameter. The machine weighs 22 pounds. Please email for shipping quote, or questions.
