ANTIQUE MILLS WAR EAGLE SLOT MACHINE ~ NICE CONDITION Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album MILLS WAR EAGLE SLOT MACHINE, OLDER RESTORATION. I purchased this machine about 14 years ago at an estate auction, and it has been in my game room. It has an original Mills lock but a replacement key, it has a coin box and is in wonderful working condition. I am told the lower front plate on this machine is a reproduction piece. The remainder along with the serial # on the top looks antique to me. If you have any questions or more photos, please ask PRIOR TO BIDDING, and I will answer to the best of my knowledge. I am told that these Mills mechanical slot machines were manufactured from the 1930’s through late 1940 era. The Mills Novelty Company was located on Fullerton Street in Chicago from 1909 until 1960. They manufactured about 200,000 mechanical slot machines until Bally entered the market in 1960 with lighted front glass panel mechanical machines and then electrical and computer models. When you drop a nickel into the coin entry plate, you can see the coins move across the escalator on the front glass. From the end of the escalator, each coin will drop down into the small pay out tube. This tube, also called the small pay out coin holder, will hold about 200 coins.
