Antique Mini Oil Night LampMELON RIB CUSTARD GLASS This old likely antique night lamp is "Melon Rib" shown on page 57 in the "Encyclopedia of Victorian Colored Pattern Glass" Book 4, by William Heacock. Also referenced in "Miniature Lamps" by Frank R. & Ruth E. Smith - Figure 297, and it is shown on page 138 as I have been advised by a trusted GPSA member. The base does have a weak glow under a black light. The pale ivory custard color glass is in very good condition with NO CHIPS OR CRACKS . It is from a 3 part mold. T is some residue inside and wear mainly on the bottom. It has some fine whirl or spiral lines on the exterior that were probably done in the making of this old night light/lamp base. No maker mark but I did find what could be a tiny "hourglass mark" or an "H"on the side, if not an imprinted mark it is a tiny flea-bite. Too tiny to tell. The burner has a male thread that fits inside the collar. The metal pieces have not been cleaned or polished but appear to be original and fit well as does the thick glass chimney. A FLAT WICK will be included! The wicks I have are short though and may not be exactly right size as I couldn't get the wick turner to work very well. SIZE 4" to the top of the brass neck and3-1/4" at widest. 5" to top of burner. Chimney is 5-3/4" tall bottom a little over 1" diameter Click any picture
