Original Antique Mission Rocker circa 1900's Built by the Oak Craft Shop in Portland, Michigan The original paper tag is pictured above with the shop name, location and chair number One picture in the gallery shows another Oak Craft Shop rocker that looks exactly like mine The name of this rocker is Oak Craft Ramsey Alton Mission rocker
Rocker is Charles Stickley Style!
In the bold style of Charles Stickley, this rocker is by "Oak Craft Shops" of Portland, Mi. and labeled under the seat. I put a new leather seat on the rocker with a hide purchased from a local taxidermist. Toth's Upholstery, another local shop, built the seat using the original frame. The look is unique with a liberal Arts & Crafts flair! The arms and front posts are in a pronounced pyramidial form accenting the extra deep front posts. Four straight slats across the back. I believe the finish is original with an old or original varnish overcoat.
