Up for auction is an antique Dressel lantern that that was from the New York Canal systems; probably the Erie Canal. Lantern looks to be 100% complete, and has still has the original red globe insert; although I did not have the red insert in place when I took the photos of the lantern outside... Lamp is marked "Mohawk Lamp, New York State Canals". Apparently, it used to be painted red, as you can see remnants of the red paint. Lantern is quite large. measuring about 25 in. tall and about 15 in. wide. The top is hinged, and when it unhinged it exposes the wick, etc. Wick moves up and down great. T are no cracks to the clear glass globe, however I have provided close-ups an the area w t is a chip to 3 of the ridges on the globe that stick out. Just a chip to the ridge; no cracks. The red globe insert has no cracks either; just a very minor flea-bite to the top edge. Lantern is in very good condition, with no dents, etc. Very neat piece of history!

Lantern is very heavy (25 lbs) and will be shipped in a box that measures about 28 in. by 17 in. by 17 in., in case you would like to go to the USPS site and get shipping costs for parcel post.... My zip code is 13460.
