Uncut antique fabric sheet for the making of a Monkey doll or pillow in printed cotton by the Arnold Print Works of North Adams, Massachusetts, an iconic American image. Arnold Print Works was founded about 1860 and quickly became one of the largest textile mills in Massachusetts. During the late 1800s they were justifiably famous for these superb, whimsical animal doll pillows which were made in many sizes and varieties. Arnold Print works declined starting about the time of the Great Depression and they ultimately closed about 1942. This is an uncut sheet for their **small** Monkey pillow, which Arnold created in 1892 and called "Jocko".An old estate piece from a very old Dallas Americana collection and unconditionally guaranteed authentic and original and NOT any type of reproduction or later version. Authenticity is guaranteed and your money (less shipping) will be cheerfully refunded with *no questions asked* if you buy it and don't agree that it is original after you see it in person and decide to return it. Check out the pics, though; it is obviously authentic and you won't be disappointed. CONDITION REPORT: Has a brown age spot in the area of Jocko's nose as shown in the pics. Also, additional age spots and staining to the white background area of the fabric as shown in the pics, but no other stains or discolorations on Jocko himself except for the brown spot on his nose. No holes or tears, no fading, no odors. The pics are very honest and show the condition well and you will not be disappointed. ****Important: Please note how the wording comes up to the very edges of the sheet in places as shown in the various pics and this may present a challenge for your framer if you decide to get this framed; though I'm sure it could be worked-with. Overall size of the cotton sheet is an **irregular** rectangle about 8.5" x 12". Most people display these framed, but if the new buyer preferred to go ahead and cut it out and make Jocko at this time, he would be about 7.25" tall. These early Arnold Print Works animals generally sell for $450++ in the secondary market for the uncut sheets. Offered at NO RESERVE and a very low start, an exceptional eBay opportunity. P lease also see my other auctions this week for more Arnold Print Works animals from this same esate collection, including some more uncut sheets and other real rarities. NOTE ON SHIPPING: Quoted $8 shipping cost assumes that the buyer will want this shipped rolled in an oversized box and not folded. If buyer is okay with it being folded, shipping would be about $4 for priority mail within the USA and including tracking. Thanks!
