Antique Mother Of Pearl & Gold Dip Pen English * Circa 1850 * Longmore Holder This pretty antique ladies pen has a rounded mother of pearl shaft and a hand engraved solid gold nib holder (tests 14/15 Ct). The nib holder is a Longmore style by Mosely. Half of the holder swings away to insert the nib and the ring on the barrel then slides down to clamp it in place. This one needs to be soldered back to the steel spring bar. The ring holds it in place, but it doesn't spring out properly. You can see exactly w the solder came apart. The nib is 14 Ct gold and is stamped "Warranted - 14 Ct - 1st Quality" . It's all in otherwise excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents or other damage. The mother of pearl is nicely luminous. It measures 6 3/8" long including the nib and was bought in England.
