Up for auction is a rare antique Morris patent metallic plane as manufactured by Sandusky.As you can see in the pictures it has suffered some damage.The plane must have been dropped long ago & the front portion has broken off.The rest of the planes casting is fine with no damage.It is stamped with the patent info down in the throat area Nov. 1870.Rear handle appears to be original & is in excellent condition with no breaks or cracks.The wedge I believe is a replacement & the front knob is a very well made copy.The blade is a Moulson Bros. blade.Screws that hold the handle in place are original.This is definately a parts & repair project.Still looks good sitting on a shelf.
