Brass Gaudard Swing Table Oil Lamp

Beautiful and large (20 inches tall) Authentic Gaudard

Up for auction is a large brass swing hanging table oil lamp by the famous Gaudard company. It is in good used condition. It has a few tarnish spots (I tried to highlight these in the photos) that I'm sure will clean up nicely. It stands 20 inches tall. The lantern hangs from a C shaped hook stand. It is marked Gaudard Made in France on the adjuster knob. From the research that I have done, lamps of this size, made by Gaudard, sell for over $150.

Auguste Gaudard started his die stamping shop in the Jura region of France in 1869. The companies modern factory opened in 1902 in Morbier , France . It had 30 draw presses that were purchased in Brooklyn , New York . This is when Auguste making his first oil lamps. The factory has been in operation under five generations of the Gaudard family. The Gaudard Factory makes some of the finest oil lamps and burners made using modern machinery with only the best raw materials and strict quality control at every stage of the process.
