FANTASTIC 8-DAY CALENDAR CLOCK w/ADVERTISEMENT You are bidding on an antique 8-day oak calendar clock made by the New Haven Clock Co. in New Haven Conn. This clock was made somew around 1910 to 1920. This is a large octagon long drop clock with the calendar feature. The clock measures 34" tall, 18 1/2" wide, and 4 1/2" deep. The old paper dial measures 11 1/2" in dia. and is in good condition with some darkening due to age. T is a worn spot just above the numeral six that isn't to noticable. The dial has "The New Haven Clock Co, New Haven Conn.) stamped at the center and "Made in U.S.A." stamped at the bottom. The upper glass is original and has a few tiny bubbles. It is surrounded by a 13" brass bezel. The upper glass door fastens shut by a wood latch on the back. The glass in the lower door is also original and has a reverse painted advertisement for "THE FARMERS' REVEIW, CHICAGO." The inside of the case has the original black paint that is in excellent condition. The pendulum is original and measures 11 1/2" long. The large brass pendulum bob measures 4 1/2" in diameter. T are a few tiny dents in the brass, but once again, not very noticable. This is considered an 8-day clock though it will run for two weeks on a single wind. The movement has been overhauled and ultrasonically cleaned and has the New Haven trademark stamped on it. This is a time only clock that keeps great time. The pendulum has a slow swing to it and is soothing to listen to. The back side of the clock has just a small portion of the original label remaining. This clock has obviously been well maintained over the years. The oak case is in great shape and has developed a nice patina through time. This wonderful timepiece looks like it just came out of an old hardware store, barber shop, or an MFA feed store. I accept money orders, cashiers check, personal check, and of course PayPal. Items paid for with personal check will be shipped when funds clear the bank which usually takes between 7 to 10 business days. I WILL ONLY SHIP TO A CONFIRMED ADDRESS WITH PAYPAL. I only use U.S. Priority Insured Mail for shipping within the United States. Shippments outside the U.S. will be by Priority Mail International. Winning bids outside of the U.S. must also Insurance will be required on all clocks. Shipping costs will be calculated based on location of winning bid. A $2.00 handling fee will be applied as packing materials are becoming more expensive. Payment is expected within 7 days of end of auction. IMPORTANT NOTICE: I will do my best to describe the condition of every clock I sell. I enjoy working on old clocks and pick up valuable experience with every one I work on, but I am not an expert. Every clock I sell must run without a problem for a minimum of 30 days before I put it up for auction. Occasionally, I will list a clock that does not run but it will be noted in the description. I will package all my clocks in a manner as I would like to have them received. All packages will be stamped "FRAGILE", sometimes with information to the Postal carrier as to the contents of the package. Once the package is shipped however, I have no control over how it is handled. For this reason, all clocks will be sold AS IS with no refund. These are old clocks, some well over 100 years of age. Sometimes, minor adjustments may be needed to get the clock running. In most cases, it is just a matter of getting the clock level and getting an even "beat." Please ask questions before you place a bid if you are unsure. Good luck and happy bidding.
