Hello Nintendo fans and antique enthusiasts! You have the rare privilege today of bidding for a very scarce Nintendo collectible. If you are unaware of Nintendo's beginnings as a playing card company in the late 19th century then please take some time to read through the history of Nintendo here: /wiki/History_of_Nintendo This double deck set of Hanafuda cards in labeled "Marafuku Sakura" which refers to the distribution name Nintendo used on their products ONLY from the years 1947 - 1951. This would date the set just after the end of WWII and would probably mean this was one of the first products to be manufactured after the atomic attacks on Japan. One wooden box is a bottom with a full sized top that fits over the deck, and the other is a wooden box with a small lid that slips off the top and fits in small grooves. Each box contains a deck of 48 hanafuda cards in used, but very good condition. These are an incredibly rare and beautiful part of Nintend and Japanese history.
