Up for auction is an antique Nippon Moriage decorated Japanese Coralene vase in a ewer or pitcher shape. It is 7 1/2 in. tall and 7 1/2 in. wide at the base. The same shape and size can be seen on page 97 of The Collector's Encyclopedia of Nippon Porcelain by Joan F. Van Patten. This old ewer vase has a green background and is hand painted with purple and yellow flowers and overlaid with moriage decoration. There is a crowsfoot hairline on the bottom as shown. This isn't visible from the topside and the ewer is stable. The decoration is in great condition with very little wear. This piece displays nicely. Please look at all the enlarged pictures as they are part of the description. We are happy to answer any questions. Thanks for looking. I have now been told this is Moriage, but not Coralene. Thanks for the information. Sorry about any confusion in the description listing.
