We are delighted to offer you this beautiful, old antique sterling silver and many marcasite 'Peacock' ring, from the Art Nouveau era! This ring is a genuine antique, and not a reproduction, such as are flooding the market and sometimes being presented as antique! ( one way to tell is that they are marked '925' instead of 'sterling', also possibly marked 'Thai, or 'china', and they sometimes use larger marcasites than were used in the older rings ) This ring has a large, round top, with scalloped edges and it is curved for a most comfortable fit on your finger! I have been wearing it for a while and don't even know it's t..which is dangerous for me, because hours later wen i check, it's gone! ( I have lost a fortune in rings...just ask my husband, who now refuses to buy them for me anymore!) This style is called 'Peacock' because the design reminds one of a peacock's fully spread tail, times 2! The center has a floral motif, with one single , larger marcasite, set within a silver ring! Then the design has petals all the way around, in a tiered fashion, followed by larger petals, set with marcasites, and adorned with intricate millegrain edging and fine beading , then another !!!
