THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! You are bidding on an Antique Oak Armoire Wardrobe Cabinet. The piece has two drawers at the bottom and nice raised curving panel double door and a large cornice at the top. The inside is completely open, no shelves or hanging pole. This piece is SOLID Oak on the front and sides. The armoire comes apart into four pieces; the bottom with the drawers is approx. 16" high, the middle part is two doors - which come apart into two pieces and are approx. 60" high, and then a top cornice piece which measures 7" high. Overall the piece stands 83" high x 18" deep and 50" wide. The pieces connect together with unusual angled metal 'locks' which slide onto angled wood piece on each side and then are hammered together. The top cornice also attaches this way with additional screws along the back. The doors lock with a key, which will be included with the purchase. Overall the condition is good - although someone has cut the top cornice piece on the back edges, most likely to fit into a room against existing woodwork. The one drawer is missing the handle part of the drawer pull - the attachment to the drawer is present, but not the hanging handle. It is very large - although because of its depth, 18" - it is not overwhelming. Since it comes apart - it is very easy to move and can fit into any room. It would be a nice piece for a flat panel television or entertainment unit. This is an antique and the exact age is not known. On the back left side t is a small card tacked to the armoire which states it came from READING INSTALLMENT CO. - Furniture, Carpets and Housefurnishing Goods; Cnr of 4 th & Penn Sts., Reading, PA. T is additional writing underneath it - but it is not readable. Also on the back it is stamped Wardrobe Catalogue No 356.
