ANTIQUE OAK FRENCH GLOBE-WERNICKE STYLE LAWYER'S SECTIONAL BUREAU BOOKCASE This is an opportunityto bid on this French Bureau Bookcase that I think dates back to the early 1900's. It is the French version of a Globe-Wernike Stacking Sectional Bookcase. Each section is slightly bigger than the traditional Globe-Wernike but in my opinion has loads more style. It comprises of two glazed bookcase sections, a bureau section and a set of three drawers. The base section also has a drawer in it. It all works well, the up-and-over door all work smoothly, as does the bureau section and we even have a key for it! The joints are firm and strong and there's no sign of any woodworm in this Bookcase. It's a Great Chestnut Brown Colour and has a rich patination, however it has been stored in a house clearance type french warehouse so a going over with some Quality Coloured Wax Polish such as Fiddes English Oak would only enhance this. This bookcase breaks down into six pieces for transport and delivery. It measures:- This is an antique second-hand piece of furniture and will obviously have signs of wear, so have a good look at the photos, but don't be put off!
