MLN 5826 / Antique Dropleaf Barley Twist/Spool Leg Oval Oak Table ~ This is an exceptional oval dropleaf table with a stylized barley twist or spool leg ~ just the thing to use as a nightstand, end table, sofa table or, of course, dining, pub or game table. The fact of it being oval almost gives us the vapors: we see designers bidding on these at auction as if they were solid gold. It's understandable, especially with this grand old piece of solid oak, dating from 1900-1920s. The oval tables are just so curvy and sexy and enchanting. They are exquisite used in any of the previously noted situations in the home and it is our considered opinion, possessing two oval barley twist end tables as we do, that the romance and stylishness and grace of a piece like this one can't be beat. This beauty is exceptional: the oval top (are we harping? so be it, it's divine), the deeply cut stacked legs with charming feet, the lush coloring of the solid oak, all of this in a sturdy well made, quality table. It's exquisite.
