Antique Oak Swivel Piano Stool, Chair, Bench This lovely antique piano chair would compliment your fine old piano Beautiful antique piano chairs like this one are very difficult to find today. Constructed of solid oak, the seat spins up or down for ease in playing the piano. It has a leaf and vine design carved into the back, with scroll work in the center, and gorgeous cast copper claw feet with original glass balls. The legs of the chair are heavy, attached firmly to the seat, and have decorative lines carved into them. T a few spots on the back rest of the chair w the varnish has peeled away. The copper clawsfeet are sturdy and intact, with fine old patina. All in all, the chair is in very good condition for it's age. The clawsfoot design with glass ball on this chair has been dated to approx. 1880's The chair has been reworked in recent years. Joints were reglued; the copper feet and screw hardware were reattached with modern screws (using the original holes). The wood of the lower legs is stillin very good condition, but t are some visible splits in the center shaft and legs. The finish does not appear to be original in all places. The back may be original finish, while the seat and legs may have been refinished as they are somewhat lighter. The entire piece has a stain finish.
