This antique octant is in excellent condition. The joints are tight and the wood and ivory inlays are in good condition. T is a small chip in the wood on the back of the frame near the top. The brass is dark with age but is not pitted. The small ivory pencil lead holder that would screw into the frame above the makers nameplate is missing, which is typical. Overall, this is a beautiful piece of history.
