A little tid-bit of info regarding these scrolls:

Ethiopian scrolls were written on vellum Lamb/sheep/ goat skin in Ge'ez. Ethiopian gospel scrolls, often referred to as âe~magic scrollsâe(tm), were believe to hold protective and healing powers, and were carried by the owner at all times. Each one was designed for the individual patron. Inscribed with prayers, spells and charms, the text was often excerpted from sacred books such as Gospels. The Ethiopian church tolerated their production in spite of their connection to magical practices. Clients commissioned their scrolls for diverse reasons, using them to undo spells, restore health or combat sterility. The dabtara , or ordained cleric responsible for producing the object, specifically tailored the size and content of the scroll to the physical and spiritual characteristics of his client, using painted decoration to enhance the scrolls protective properties

These scrolls have been behind non-glare glass for 35-40 years and were from a smoke-free home. Found at a local estate stale these were scotch-taped to t black matt's and framed. Due to the fact these are made of hide/leather the tape did not affect them. the glass was cracked on one of them so I removed it. As you can see they are of fine art quality framed they look fantastic.....options? the frames are of average quality and due to the age of the paper backing and the story from the estates family who travelled Ethopia in the late 50's to early 60's..

Length: first set of pics.....19 1/2" long by 3 1/2" wide, second set 20 1/2" by 3 1/2"....I suggest shipping rolled up for first class mail insured probably 3.80 plus insurance if desired or I can ship the frames which will probably cost $13.00 to $15 US
