This is a 24" Tall/5L Beer Stein!! A very handsome salt-glazed stoneware stein. Beautifully decorated with very vibrant colors (It is marked Germany1069/5L on the bottom) It features different vine type and grain type raised decorations and a man drinking from a stein at a keg. The keg has a "B" type marking on it and his hand is resting on another stein that has "HB" inprinted on it . It has wonderful, brilliant colors in the scene! It is an antique c1960 German stein by "Old Germany" marked #1069 Germany. The piece measures 24" to the top of the lid, and 6 3/4" across the bottom. The stein has a pewter lid, with an origional tag from the company hanging from the handle. The stein is etched with verses in German, which I have not had translated. T are no chips or cracks to the pottery. The pewter hinge and mount is tight. T are engraved markings along the middle of the pewter lid and a leaf at the mount, w the thumb rests. No breaks or repairs. You will be very pleased with this beautiful old stein. Please see pictures for better detail.This ceramic piece measures 26" tall and 8 1/2" wide including the handle. The opening of the mouth is 3 1/2" and the base of the stein measures 6 3/4". Bid now and enjoy this rare, beautiful beer stein.
