People I have a very fine and I think extremely rare antique hand grinder. It has no maker or pat. dates on it BUt I have to believe it was made in the very early 1900's or late 1800's. It is very good shape it has no weld repairs no gear teeth missing. I removed the light rust and gave it a fresh coat of paint to prevent rust. It is approx 12 inches tall 15 inches long and it weighs approx 19 pounds unboxed. The large gear is approx 9 inches in dia. The stone is 4 inches by 1 inch. The stone is in excellent shape as you can see. It rotates very smooth as you crank it the stone goes up and down. It also has a lever at the rear that gives you the option of still or the up and down motion. It is a really neat feature. This tool in my opinion is a very good example of American History. The original tool rest is in place held down by two clamps the clamps are replacements. The wood handle is in excellent shape and also a replacement. The tool will be taken apart and packed extremely well for the trip. Shipping will probably be 20 depending on location PLease check my other auctions and I will list more sunday night Thanks It is hard to see but the tool is mounted to the original wood board.
