This was my grandfather's set. I remember him testing my vision with it when I was a youngster (regularly since my eyes kept getting weaker). With it I include his diploma as a "Fellow of Optics," dated Feb. 13, 1908. Also included are State of Illinois "Registered Optometrist" certificates for 1919, 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927,1929. He retired in 1929 I was told. The kit has 183 lenses in excellent condition, of which t are 50 spherical convex, 50 spherical concave, 30 cylindrical convex, 30 cylindrical concave, 10 lenses shown as #'s 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1. (I broke the handle off of #6 while cleaning. It's included and could be repaired.) Also t are 13 various lenses with slits, hues, etc. T are 2 testing frames, measuring blades, a couple of reading charts, and some old eyeglass frames and lenses that I found in the case. The interior of the case is in very good shape, but the outside is very rough with dried and missing leather. The clasps don't meet and I didn't want to attempt a fix after my adventure with lens #6 (handle included!). The clasps seem rusted beyond help. I see no brand name on the case, may be gone with the leather. Shipping to continental US only!!
