Hi and welcome. Today we have a Rare Amazing Antique Original Circa 1897 Primitive Life Size Solid Wood Rocking Horse that is Signed Dated on the bottom for your consideration. This is all solid wood and left very primitive because the legs and body still retain the shape of the log and branches as well as knots from which the wood it originated. It measures approximately 28 inches in height by 36 inches in length. The piece is dated on the bottom as well as a signature which I cannot completely read due to it being under the heavy varnish but you can see a segment of it in the picture I took with the date shown. The head of the horse moves back and forth and the rocker is a old bright red paint color on the bottom with deep brown varnish on the body. It looks like it was hand carved and so very uniquely an old primitive horse. T is a orange woven maine along with reins and a red hand carved seat to sit on. This is a truly unique 19th century piece for the avid collector or a wonderful impressive accent as a decorative show piece.
