Up for bids is this original antique Pelton Water Wheel stamped from San Fransisco, CA. Patent dates stamped on wheel are 1880/Feb. 1889/ Aug. 1889 so I'm assuming this was patented in Aug. 1889. Also it's stamped Motor # 4. It has 20 double cups, has a 19 inch pitch diameter with a shaft length of 24 inches and a key way at both ends. The inlet pipe measures between 2 - 2 1/2 inches and the heighth of the wheel is 25 inches tall. It has up to a 160 lb. pressure gauge. The water drains out of the bottom.
This particular Pelton wheel is a very rare item, it was the top-of-the-line when it was made and t may be only a few left in the whole country that have not been scrapped or damaged. T are many, many later style Pelton that are "nothing special" but this one is a super rare early model and totally different in rarity from most. Approximate shipping weight is 350 lbs. Owner would be more than willing to instruct the new owner on installing this water wheel. If interested we'll make the previous owner's phone number available to the winning bidder. This water wheel is in great condition and is fully operational. Additional photos upon request. Let me know if you have any questions and please be sure to stop by my eBay store "Longhouse Trading Post" for a variety of collectibles, antiques and much, much more! Please note my payment policy. I do not accept personal checks. Thank you. For accurate shipping rates email seller. I'll list it as local pick up only, but I will be open to shipping it freight truck lines as well.
