This auction is for a very unusual antique blacksmith's vice. I've never seen another vice like this. The base hangs down several feet off the side of the workbench. (I measured the length of it, but I can't find the paper I wrote it on, so I will have to go back to my storage unit and measure it again. I'll add a note in a couple of days as to the length) It came out of a hardware manufacturing plant in Newark, New Jersey which shut down recently. The building was made in 1900, so I'm sure this is atleast that old. The company had another building for 25 years before that. I wouldn't be surprised if this came out of the original building. It is in fairly nice condition for something this age. It is still fully functional and doesn't have any parts that are bent or cracked. As far as shipping, I didn't have a scale with me when I went to shoot these pictures, but it has to weigh atleast 60 pounds. I keep underestimating shipping and screwing myself over. If you're in the South Jersey area and want to pick it up, great. If you need it shipped, Don't pay pal me until I go to the local UPS store and find out what they will charge to pack it and ship it. You can pay whatever they charge me. OK, it is, I went back to take the measurements. First off, I have now found out that this is called a blacksmiths leg vice. It measures 41-1/2" read more
