For your consideration an ornate cast iron Ansonia mantel clock. Fresh from a local estate. The clock is in good condition. It is made of cast iron with an black finish. The finish is in excellent condition. The cast iron case is in excellent condition with no damage. The lion heads, feet, decoration and front door are made of brass and ornately cast. The front door glass is beveled and in excellent condition. The dial is made of porcelain an marked MANUFACTURED BY THE ANSONIA CLOCK CO. NEW YORK UNITED STATES OF AMERICA T is a fine hairline in the dial through the 9. The spring for the strike winds up good but I could not get the spring for the time to wind up. I think it is unhooked or broken. The clock strikes on the hour times the hour and on the half hour. The movement is also marked ANSONIA CLOCK CO. PATENTED JUNE 14. 81 NEW YORK U.S.A. The clock measures 16" in width by 10 1/2" in height by 6 3/4" in depth. It is very heavy and weighs about 21 pounds. A very beautiful clock to be sure. This is one of the nicest cast iron Ansonia clocks I have seen in a long time. I am sure you clock guys could have this one running like new in no time at all.
