ANTIQUE ORNATE STERLING SILVER BREAD TRAY PLATTER WITH MONOGRAM Excellent Gently Used Condition We are excited to be able to offer you this spectacular antique sterling silver bread tray that is extremely ornate and heavy at 14 ounces. They don't make them like this anymore. It is 12 3/4" long by 7 1/4" wide by 1 1/4" deep and can be used as a bread tray or to serve anything you like that fits into the beautiful shape such as celery. The edges of the tray are "to die for." They are adorned with curved flora, fauna, swirls, scrollwork and a hint of Art Nouveau that are very deep and have beautiful black oxidation in the crevices. The sides of the tray flow in and out very gracefully to highlight the scrollwork, and the back side of the decorations are flat or filled in, not hollow. In the center of the tray is a beautiful monogram that I think is a "B," but could also possibly be interpreted to be a G, F, T or O. The back of the platter is stamped "Sterling, R. W. & S., and 1955." This magnificent bread tray is in fabulous condition. T are no dings, no dents, no tarnishing, no pitting, no black spots, no deep scratches, no defects and no problems. I see soft swirls and light uniform scratches from previous polishing and careful use and a couple of very hard to find tiny pinpoint dents, but absolutely nothing unsightly. You will not be disappointed with the condition of this item! Also, I only lightly polished it for the photo, and I believe further polishing could take it up another notch. This item receives my strongest recommendation for its spectacular design, materials and condition. Buy with confidence after reviewing my feedback history.
