Description: This auction is for the 2 German Ox-Tongue Irons pictured above. One is a Gas Jet Model, and one is a slug style. They will both clean to be pretty nice. This type or style iron is typically found in areas where Germanic or other Eastern Europeans immigrated to during their influx into US back in the late 19th and early 20th century. I just got a book for Xmas about Ellis Island telling the story in pictures and word about that large influx of immigrants, and many of the immigrants from that era looked no different to me than the ones those immigrants offspring now want to exclude because of where they come from, how they look or what they believe. Odd when you think about it. How soon we forget. 2 Hard to find irons that will will be a nice addition to most any collection of sad irons!! A Note About Our Actions: I have seen other eBay sellers offering this style iron for hundreds of dollars with either buy it now prices or crazy start prices on their "auctions".
