I recently got hired to clean out the attic of an old house in Emmitsburg, Maryland. (Circa late 1770 early 1800's). Part of my pay was that I could have all the so called junk. I of course jumped at it. I found this along with another cake stand and an old sugar bowl in the same box. The previous employees just about threw this in the dumpster. The house is being remodeled. (I got an attic full of treasures which I will be listing all this week). They pitched such great old antiques, it made me sick. Thank goodness I was able to save this beautiful piece. I don't know a whole lot about glass. I was told this is an older piece referred to as Candlewick. I tried to get good pictures but they don't service justice for this beautiful piece of glass. It stands at 10" tall by about 10 1/4" in diameter. The base is 4". T is a beautiful diamond design on the flat part w the cake would sit. On the stem part the design has harps on it. T are little glass beads around the top diameter as well as on the very bottom of the base. The glass is a shade of blue green like the old ball jars. No cracks or chips what so ever. Weighs 3lbs 4.1 ounces before packing. I highly recommend insurance. It will depend on the final selling price. As per the US postal service rates. I do not charge extra. I prefer paypal but will also accept a money order or read more
