's a great find for a vintage antique tool and/or gizmo collector! Up for auction is this very old Penberthy sump pump. It is labeled a "Automatic Cellar Drainer". I am not familiar with old pumps but believe this is a primative "venturi" pump. In other words...it does not require any electrical power to operate. It is operated by water or steam. It has patent dates of Aug. 19 1924 and Feb 8 1927. It looks to be in very near mint condition. Not only is it very old...it is also very beautiful with a copper float and a brass stand with four brass legs.T are six manual pressure settings embossed or stamped in the metal on the ball arm on top and both the inlet and outlet are also labeled. This piece stands approx. 19" tall and the copper float is about 7" wide x 5 1/2" tall. Also included in this auction is the original instruction tag...although tattered and has some tears is still very readable. If you are a collector of this type of vintage antiques...don't miss out on this one! High bidder to pay $14.50(heavy item) shipping and ins. costs. Pay Pal or money order prefered but if high bidder has 20 or more pos. feedbacks, personal check ok. A reasonable reserve price has been set for this item. Thanks for looking and good luck! Shipping to U.S. only on this item.
