PENLAND PEWTER PENLAND, NORTH CAROLINA ANTIQUE 16" PEWTER PLATE * DOGWOOD DESIGN * ______________________________ In this auction you are bidding on a Rare antique pewter plate signed Penland Pewter. This large plate measures 16" in diameter overall and the inner depression is 10 " in diameter and weighs 3 1/2 lbs. Hand etched on the back, Penland Pewter Penland NC . This large pewter plate has been hand hammered and designed with Dogwood blossoms and leaves around the outer part of the plate. The condition is very good for an item this old and it does have numerous scratches and some bending in places but this is normal for a plate such as this. Pewter is a soft metal and this plate shows no signs of breakage or repair. You just don't see this type of quality hand crafted metalware everyday and this one is great.
