This is an antique cast iron coffee grinder manufactured by the Philadelphia Enterprise Mfg Co. #3 (marked on inside the lid, wheels & base). It is dated July.12.98. The ginder was converted into a lamp in the early 50s and the light fixture works fine. It has the finial, 2 bulb sockets, cord and wiring. The cord is in excellent condition. It passes by 2 plates on the inside (photo) and through a hole drilled on the back of the wooden base (photo). The grinder parts are all original; wooden turn handle on right wheel, porcelain knobs on drawer and top lid. The wheels turn and the drawer opens and closes. We never used it to grind coffee. The top lid opens and you can see in the photo how the lamp fixture was attached. The hole for the pole is 1/4". It is attached with a nut and it could easily be removed if you did not want to use it as a lamp (photo). T is a photo which shows the plate on top covering the post hole for the lamp. It has the original decals on the grinder. T is also a photo of the internal grinding gears. From the base to the top of the lamp's finial, it measures 27 1/4". Measuring without the lamp post from the base to the top of the lid is approximately 15 1/2". The wheels have a diameter of 10 3/4" and are also marked with Phildelphia U.S.A. Enterprise Mfg. Co.
