This auction is for an antique photograph album from 1873. The original owner's initials are marked in gold with the date on the front. It belonged to C. C. Allen of Cambridgeport, Massachusetts. T is a very good beginning of the family tree included. The descendants of C. C. Allen lived in NH and some attended UNH. The caretaker of this album appears to be C. C. Allen's granddaughter, Fannie Allen Smith, who has identified at least 13 of the 103 photographs (some may identified on the back, but I did not remove to find out). The photos include at least one of C. C. Allen, Fannie's mother, Martha Allen Smith, a home (perhaps his ?), children, babies, one of two sisters, young women and men and some older women and men. Some phots are tin-type. Some were taken in England, Rhode Island, Greenwich, Boston, and Cambridgeport. Some names include Wadleigh, Danforth, Moulton, Miller, Hill, Rollins, and Media. T are 25 double-sided heavy cardboard pages that can hold a total of 164 photo (6 pages of 4 (~2.5" X 3.5") openings alternating with 2 pages of one (~4.5" X ~6") opening. The album measures ~9" X ~11.5" and is 3" thick. The photographs are in fine condition. The album is missing the closure, the outside binding has pulled aways in 2 places, but the pages are firmly intact. In good condition for over 130 years old. PLEASE E-MAIL ME read more
