is a beautiful antique victorian photo album from the 1800's. I bought this great New England album 25 years ago at a local sale. These are the origional 37 cdv photos and 1 tinted tin. T are 4 tinted cdv 's, 3 have ID's. T are 11 from Northampton and 4 from nearby towns in Massachusetts. Perhaps some of these young women attedned Smith College.
Some of the rare and unusual photos include: 3 different women in their earlier photo and then again years later in a photo. pregnant woman Woman wearing fur hat and pelts on her coat. Mom with baby and woven Indian blanket, marked "1864, John 4 months". Tinted- girl and her dog. Young kids and teen aged. I took close up photos to show their beautiful eyes and faces. I will be happy to send full view photos of all cvdv 's which are in great antique condition. PHOTO 1: Shows a beautiful teen age girl. She used 2 different Northampton studios and is wearing the same locket in each cdv. PHOTO 2 : Set on left shows a young woman in hat and then again years later. She used the same studio and looks like the same hat. The set on right shows a young woman and then again years later. PHOTO 3 : Young girl 6-7 yrs. and a dog. Tinted dress and dog spots. Cdv of mom and baby, ID says"John July 28/1864 - 4 months". Look at the great woven Indian pattern blanket. Mom has a lace/filigree hair comb that is tinted. PHOTO 4 : Teen girl with a hint of a smile, looking at camera rather than off to the side. The eyes really are windows to the soul. Woman wearing fur hat, coat with fur collar and hanging pelts (squirrel tails?). PHOTO 5 : Brother and his younger sister sitting on arm of chair. Other cdv is a captivating girl 5-6 yrs. old. What a face...pouty cupid bow lips. Her dress and rug are tinted. PHOTO 6 : Well dressed woman wearing choker, brooch and dangle earrings. Fur trim on dress. Other woman also well dressed in floral print dress ( most wear solid dark colors) Large hair comb and brooch. PHOTO : 7 This is a rare photo of a young woman with a smile and she appears to be pregnant. The other is a teen aged girl that is a real beauty. She must have had piercing sky blue eyes. If she were alive today she'd be a model. PHOTO 8 : Tinted tin (cheeks) of pretty young woman. Photo of the 1st page of album. I counted 8 different colors in this beautiful and detailed art work. PHOTO 9 : young girl 11-12 yrs. old, tiny waist. Woman in pretty dress unusual in that it's a light colored fabric. Woman in beautiful dress with trim on bell shaped sleeves. PHOTO 10 : Man with long side burns holding top hat. Handsome boy in check pants. PHOTO 11 : Middle aged woman wearing floral head band or flat hat. Good looking couple RARE to see them both standing and not the usual man in chair with wife standing. Middle aged man in light colored suit with darker piping trim. The leather album has wear on the spine. The page edges are guilded as well as areas on the front + back covers. It has its origional instruction sheet on how to place cdv in album. T are 24 pages that can hold 48 photos. The majority of inner paper frames are in great condition, clean and working, some have up to a 1 inch tear. One closing clasp is missing. This great album is 6" tall x 5" wide x 2" thick. ***If you want more photos I can attach them to an email.*** T is a small reserve on this great find.
