ANTIQUE PHOTOGRAPHS AND ALBUM The Photographic Album - Title page of album This antique photo album (4 1/4" x 5 3/4") has 48 photographs. Some have the look and feel of old photographs. Some feel and look like they are printed on glass or tintype. And yet, some feel like they are on stiff cardboard. Some are about 1 1/2" wide and 3 3/4" long (and some are a little larger) and are mounted on some sort of heavy backing with gold along the edges (see picture #4). Most of the pictures are inserted in their individual slots and I am afraid to try to pluck them out to see the back of them. However, the ones that are on the heavy cardboard-like mountings say Kenosha, WIS on the back & a round stamp "Award of Merit to _____Marsh for cabinet photographs exhibited at eighth annual convention, Chicago 1887" & another round stamp "Photographers Assocciation of America". and one has lots of ink writings with a name "T Thomas" and some #s - 602 and 777 and some other writings that I can't decipher. I hope this helps a little bit The leather album itself is in poor condition and one section has pulled completely away from the binding (see picture #5). The leather spine is no longer intact but is present. T are two metal latches on the side and the edges of the pages are also done with gold. All but 2 of the photographs are in good condition for their age. 2 pictures must have gotten a drop of liquid on it and the paper has pulled away from the women's faces. The only history I know about this album is that my Mom said, "This is very, very old -- it's an antique, you know.) Buyer pays shipping cost + $1.50 handling which includes delivery confirmation. I will be using the eBay Shipping Calculator for your convenience. Let me know if you want to purchase insurance - it will be extra. Personal Checks, Money Orders & Cashier's Checks are acceptable.
